Revealed for the first time at the Detroit auto show 2013, Continental GT Speed Coupe’s convertible brother drew a lot of attention through its design and features. The new convertible unit has the same W12 6 litre turbo compression propeller like the Speed Coupe and develops 616 HP at 6000 rpm and 800 Nm between 2000 and 5000 rpm. In a direct comparison to Continental GT Speed Coupe, the convertible model has a lower speed with 5 Km/H. With the 12 cylinder propeller under the hood the fastest convertible in the world can jump from 0 to 100 Km/H in 4,4 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 325 Km/H. The all wheel drive is assure by a ZF Quickshift eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The interior of the four seats convertible is athletic and neat with leather upholstery, a multimedia system with a storage capacity of 15 GB, Sat Nav system , Niam audio system, wooden and carbon fibre touches and ceramic breaks. Asked whether this is a car for the hot season, Bentley officials stated that the car can be used all year round since the four layer cover-up roof can last even at monsoon rains.

Flying Spur has an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all wheel traction based 60% on the rear and 40% on the front. This speeding limo can sprint from 0 to 100 Km/H in 4,3 seconds and can reach the maximum speed of 321 Km/H which is not bad at all! The car was meant to be light and aerodynamic weighing 2,473 Kg and having a lower ceiling line and a more athletic look. Flying Spur’s descending comes out through the round LED lights and the stylish front grill. According to Bentley officials, over 2000 people are interested in the new SUV, which costs up to 150.000 Euros, as stated in Auto car magazine, although initially, when the concept was presented, many criticized the model, suggesting it was too ugly and it would affect Bentley’ s image.

Bentley chief, Wolfgang Schreiber, explained that the new SUV is very different than the concept presented in 2012. “ It is totally different and it is ready for the final development stages. It has the DNA of modern cars but it looks special, like a modern SUV. It has many new technologies, wooden and leather handmade interior and a powerful engine with good acceleration” explained Bentley official.

Awaited to have its world premiere this Spring, when the Geneva Auto Show will open its gates, the “ new” Bentley Mulsanne has three additional colors – Dark Cashmere, Portofino and Damson, these being the only change brought to the exterior. For the interior, the improved version of the British limo impresses through its design choices, which promise a plus of luxury and comfort. If this is even possible.

In other words, the future clients will have a Comfort Specification package, which brings along headrests designed for maximum comfort, footrest and, last but not least, duck feather pillows. Also, the same buyers can opt for an Entertainment Specification menu, which includes two 8 inch LCD monitors, 20 GB hard drive, DVD player, Bluetooth headphones and , last but not least, two iPads with wireless keyboards and desks.

Bentley will soon make a final decision on its deluxe SUV, announces Automotive News quoting the brand’s CEO. According to Wolfgang Schreiber, Bentley’s SUV look will be inspired from the other models of the series, not the EXP 9F concept, and the platform will be shared with Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche. If the model will receive the thumbs up for production, it will debut on the market in three years.

“In the case of EXP 9F Concept, our intention was to receive feed-back from the market, not to present the final version of the interior. If you had seen the final version you would have know it is a true Bentley. Talking about the engines, Bentley is part of the deluxe segment, and our clients like our effortless acceleration and high torque motors”, added Wolfgang Schreiber about the new model of the Crewe series.

The future SUV from Bentley will be equipped with a supercharged V8 engine, and the British constructor will also be able to offer an optional W12. Most likely, the series version of Bentley SUV will take on the Porsche Cayenne platform. Bentley will also share a platform with Porsche and Audi, which will equip the future Continental GT Coupe, model expected to debut in five years.

Under the pressure of the new pollution rules, Bentley officials are thinking of ways to reduce the fuel intake and the gas emissions. Present at the Detroit Auto Show, Wolfgang Schreiber, the British constructor’s executive president, stated to the press that Bentley has in plan the development of a new hybrid model which could be a plug-in.

According to Schreiber, no sooner than 2016 the car might become a series model with a fully functional drive train.

Although Schreiber’s predecessor, Wolfgang Durheimer, liked the idea of a high performance diesel engine, this idea is now denied. Asked about this Schreiber said “ diesel is not a brand priority. Our main markets, China, the United States and the Middle East are not interested in the diesel option. Moreover, the diesel decision might be too late, since hybrids offer now a low fuel intake and are not restricted on any markets.”

Schreiber decided to shed some light on the new Mulsanne Convertible Concept, the convertible variant of the British limo. “ The public gave a fantastic feed-back. All in all, at the moment we have so many formidable options among we could choose from that the Mulsanne Convertible is no more than one of them. Though there is a chance it will be produced in series”, he added.

Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible, the convertible brother of the Continental GT Speed Coupe model, was revealed before the world premiere which will take  place at the Detroit Auto Show 2013.

The new convertible  has the same engine as the fixed roof model, a W12 with 6,0 liters with two turbochargers which develop 616 HP at 6.000 rpm and 800 Nm between  2.000 and 5.000 rpm.

The 12 cylinder engine under the hood of the Continental GT Speed Convertible allows the car to jump from 0 to 100 Km/h in 4,4 seconds and to reach the maximum speed  of 325 Km/h.This means that it needs 0,1 seconds more than the coupe model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and it also means that the maximum speed is with 5 Km/h   slower than the fixed roof version.Even so,Bentley officials state that the new Continental GT Speed Convertible is the fastest four seats convertible in the world.

The power transfer between the four wheels is assured by an automatic gearbox with eight steps ZF“ Quickshift”, the same as in the GT Speed coupe.

For the interior “the fastest convertible in the world” has leather upholstery and multimedia system with a storage capacity of 15 GB. On the  options list there will  be available a navigation system with satellite images and live traffic conditions, a Naim audio system,carbon fiber or wooden finishes and ceramic breaks.

Officials of the British auto company state that the new Continental GT Speed Convertible is a car which can be used all year round, even if it is a convertible,  since the fabric roof has four layers and is resistant even at monsoon rains.
