The German carmaker Audi has been producing some of the most elegant looking and cutting edge cars to the consumers for a long time now. But what they have planned for future releases and upgrades are something beyond extraordinary. Let’s look at the future concepts, ideas and technologies Audi will use to impress us.

Self-Driving Cars aka ‘Traffic Jam Assistant’

What Audi calls its ‘Traffic Jam Assistant’ is actually the concept that will let the car drive itself among the traffic. According to a representative of the company, these cars will not be totally automatic but actually will be used to assist the human drivers to take some time off when they don’t feel like driving anymore – kind of like the Auto-pilot technology that is being used in airplanes. The technology will work via the lateral sensors that will detect the moving vehicles surrounding the car at a slower speed.

Audi Phone Box Technology

This will actually be a small compartment that will be placed between the two front row seats in the car where the users can keep their phones. Audi has plans to design the car’s very own external cellular antenna that will be placed outside the car. This antenna and the phone box will make up the total Audi Phone Box Technology that will provide an internet connection and will ultimately result in producing 2-3 bars more signals to the phones. It is a must in places where cellular towers/networks don’t work. It will be available in the upcoming Audi A3.

Audi ‘Pre-Sense’ Technology

Though it will be available in the larger models, but this technology will be able to save the drivers from imminent crashes as it will detect the incidents before it actually happens. It will also tighten the seatbelts and will apply the maximum possible hard-brakes to avoid damage.

‘Park Pilot’ Technology

Audi’s ‘Park Pilot’ technology will park the car after the driver has left his seat automatically by detecting the best possible parking spots with its built-in camera and laser sensors.
