Bugatti Veyron is one of the most appreciated cars of all time. Why? It’s not difficult at all to answer the question. The car is a perfect example of what style and performance in the same body means. As the video below says, Veyron is an example of man’s genius and a triumph of a man’s enginerity over nature’s less and inscrutable ferocity. No matter what you’ve driven before, Bugatti Veyron will change your whole vision of what a vehicle is able to do.

Bugatti Veyron takes you in a totally different league. Unlike most fast cars, this one doesn’t give you the feeling that it will disintegrate when getting close to 250 mph. It rather makes you feel safe. Just imagine that this piece of car makes you feel safe when reaching almost 250mph. Well, that’s surely something!

What makes the car so fast is of course the master piece of a vehicle: the engine. Two narrow-angle V8 engines were put together to create the 8.0 litre, quad-turbocharged, W16 cylinder engine that powers Veyron and that is garnished with 4 turbochargers. This produces 1000 break horsepower. The engine had to be made of light but strong elements that would work at aeronautical speed in extreme conditions like a tough Arctic winter or a hot summer in desert. But heat is what you get in order to acquire these figures. That’s why 10 radiators have been fitted in order to reduce the great amount of heat produced. And that makes Veyron the ultimate in internal combustion.

Well, things didn’t go that well when the team building Veyron put that beast of an engine into the car. That’s because the team found out that they were 13km/h short of the targeted 400km/h. You might wonder why that would be so much of a problem. Well, for each extra kilometer an hour 8 horsepower are needed. You do the math and see what 13km/h means. And how can you get so much from just one car? You cannot keep on adding other powerful elements to the already super powerful engine. So, the team thought it would be best to start playing with the car’s aerodynamics. Many of the car’s elements have been created in a way to give downforce. Take the door mirrors for example.

The car has been labeled as the most fantastic piece of engineering or the “car of the decade”. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and from 0-100 mph in 5 seconds. How that is possible with that massive weight is something most of us would like an answer to. The car is simply remarkable. But that’s too simple a word to describe Bugatti Veyron.

The breaking system that Veyron features is rather phenomenal. Veyron brakes from 250 mph to 0 in 10 seconds with the distance covered in this time being half of kilometer. The interior of the car rises to everybody’s expectations getting even beyond what one would imagine of getting from a car. Brilliant! And this doesn’t describe only what this monster on wheels can do. Veyron does all these things year after year putting all the other cars in the shade.
