There’s been much fuss about Lamborghini SUV, its features, release date, price and name. Well, the vehicle is said to be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show later this month. Rumors had it that the Lamborghini SUV would be called Deimos but speculations are made that the car will receive another name, that is Urus.

The Italian supercar maker will unveil a supersized car that still maintains the Lambo flavor despite its angular and somewhat squashed look. If the Chinese rumors turn out to be true, then the next offering from Lamborghini will be called Urus and Deimos will probably be used for another creation of the Italian automaker.

The name points to an extinct European breed of a giant cow known as the Aurochs (another term for Urus). In the chronicles of the Gallic Wars, Julius Caesar mentioned the Aurochs. In the Middle Ages only the nobility could hunt the Aurochs and the last example of the breed died in the Jaktorow forest of Poland, in 1627. There are sources that claim the name was inspired by a descendent of Ghenghis and the ruler of at least one horde, Urus Khan.

Lamborghini SUV Urus will be a 584 horsepower version of the 10-cylinder Gallardo engine. It’s expected to be released in 2015 and will cost around $200,000. They say a hybrid that will push past the 600 horsepower mark will be unveiled after Lamborghini SUV Urus comes out.
