Volkswagen Beetle-funny and weird

I’m almost positive that there are many of you who have a soft spot for Beetle. Who wouldn’t have? If we’re to take into account the fact that it’s practical, small (so everybody can park it without any problems) and cute, then we know why Beetle has so many fans and owners. This car has made history and is now known as the world’s most-manufactured car of a single design platform.

It all started back in 1938 when Beetle was designed and meant to put an end to the “cars are for rich people” idea. Even so, it was only after 1945 that Beetle started to be produced in significant numbers.

In the 1950’s, Beetle was said to be more powerful and comfortable than many small cars designed and manufactured in Europe. It was then that new four Volkswagen branches were built: Volkswagen of Brasil, Volkswagen de Mexico, Volkswagen of America and the factory of South Africa.

The 1970’s weren’t that much of a success for Beetle because the new Volkswagen car (the Golf) was built then and thus, Beetle was no longer produced in Europe but only in Mexico. Still, Beetle has remained as the symbol of the 1970’s and the Hippie/Flower Power period.

In 2010, Beetle was launched with the title of “Final Edition”. Well, it seems that Beetle is here to stay and we can now enjoy the Volkswagen Beetle 2012. So, here’s a collection of funny, weird and cute pictures of Beetle for all Beetle fanatics! Enjoy!
