The SUV from Porsche, which everybody expected after Cayenne, was left pretty much expected, which gave rise to all sorts of speculations. At the moment it was announced by the press, this Porsche was called Cajun.
But a few days ago, Porsche unveiled a new name for the new model.
Instead of Cajun, the SUV will be called Macan, writes Business Insider.
The new name is taken from Indonesian language and means “tiger”.
The company justified its choice by the need to choose a name that would sound good in many languages.
It seems that the name originally chosen - Cajun has negative connotations in certain countries or was too hard to pronounce.
Porsche‘s new SUV will go into production in 2013 and will go on sale in 2014.
