Electric cars have come on the market recently but have been gaining increasingly more land. Volkswagen does not want to lag behind and it seems that plans to launch a concept electric automiobil next year at Auto Show in Detroit. The concept of the Volkswagen will be totally different and will be based to the new Beetle model.

With this car, Volkswagen plans to be the main competitor of Nissan and Mitsubishi companies that have registered a considerably success with their electric models, Nissan Leaf respectively Mitsubishi i-MiEV.

Things are not as safe as you think, those from Volkswagen keeping a somewhat secret until 2012 when the presentation will take place in Detroit.

Whatever the project, it will focus on the Jetta platform with an electric motor 1.4-liter, four cylinder turbo. Project will be a special destiny self ECO space.
