The Spanish auto manufacturer Seat, part of the auto group Volkswagen, will launch, next year, a new generation of the Leon series. The compact model will also be offered in a hatchback version. If the Volkswagen producer was doing it, Skoda was doing it too, why was Seat beneath them?

The Spanish auto manufacturer decided to proceed like its group colleagues and to offer the Leon compact model inclusively in a hatchback version, says the German magazine “Focus”.

This new Seat model can be seen by the public next year, after the renewal of the Leon series. The third generation of the compact class Spanish model Leon (related with Volkswagen Gold and Skoda Octavia – these three use a common architecture) will be presented, probably, at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September, followed by the commercial debut in 2012.

The Spanish producer Seat will add a facelift to the Ibiza series, a small city model (an own version of the Volkswagen Up series!) and a sedan.

The Volkswagen group objective for Seat is increasing the sales up to 800.000 units, until 2018, and making income in 2013.
